Carbon Hill High School recently issued the following announcement.
Kindergarten pre-registration for the 2020-2021 school year will be conducted from Monday, March 2nd through Friday, March 13th for the Walker County School System. Carbon Hill Elem & JHS will have a Registration Rally on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 9:00 AM (Registration starts at 8:30 AM) in the auditorium. Registration packets may be picked up in the office between 8:00-3:00 each school day. We will also send packets home with students in our PreK and Headstart programs who will be old enough to attend kindergarten next school year. You may bring the completed packets with you to the Registration Rally. If you cannot make it to the Registration Rally, please come by to pick up the registration packet so you can return it by Friday, March 13. What: Kindergarten Readiness Rally
When: Wednesday, March 11, 2020
Registration starts at 8:30
Parent Orientation at 9:00 (We will start student-teacher meetings at this time)
Who: Parents of/and children who will start Kindergarten next fall
(Turning 5 on or before September 2, 2020)
Where: CHEJH Auditorium (Enter the building through the middle entrance)
Why: To give parents an opportunity to meet kindergarten teachers, school administrators, tour the school, ask questions, and complete documents for registration. This will allow the teachers an opportunity to get to know each child’s personality and strengths as he or she transitions to school.
How: While parents learn about registration, children will participate in fun learning activities with the kindergarten teachers and staff. Following the orientation and teacher-student interaction, parents will be able to tour the school with our Beta Club Members. A school bus will also be on site to introduce the children to school bus safety and to ease any anxieties they, or their parents, might have about riding the bus to school come August.
Parents may register the day of March 11 or pre-register in the school office. Every incoming kindergarten student who attends our Readiness Rally will receive a free Carbon Hill Elementary t-shirt.
Please bring the following (please plan to still attend even if you don’t have everything ready at the time):
* Current Immunization Form (blue slip)
* Original Birth Certificate
* Social Security Card
