KultureCity First Responder Certification

Award

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office recently participated in the KultureCity First Responder Certification Program.

This education for our deputies and support staff will help us identify individuals with sensory needs, invisible disabilities, and mental health challenges.

The Sensory Inclusive movement is to provide understanding and acceptance for any person with a sensory need. 1in 6 individuals have a sensory need or an invisible disability. These are individuals with ptsd, autism, dementia, strokes, and adhd just to mention a few.

Training is key to knowing how to approach someone with invisible disabilities and can make a vital difference at crucial times.
